One More Sleep!!!!!

With only one more sleep until we fly out, the excitement is palpable. 

This trip has been over a year in the making and it is almost unbelievable that we are already only two days away from being in the United States. 

There is no doubt that we are trembling with anticipation, but there is also a degree of nervousness about the ambition of this trip. The last time we went overseas was in 2006, to the United Kingdom, and that was only for two weeks and we stayed with family the whole time. 

This will be the first time we have really struck out on our own for such a long time, and to be driving for so much of it, well, it has no precedent. But I for one thrive on nervous energy and the unknown possibilities are the reason we want to embark on this holiday in the way that we have planned. 

I told Lindsay that if we're going to the States, then we're going to GO! We want to see as much of it as possible and go off the beaten track to see what we can find. Let's just hope we don't discover that the hills really do have eyes!

If we do in fact get to sleep tonight, we will definitely be dreaming of the adventures to come in the next few days.
